Two Great Organizations Join to Make the Best Workshop for Students
This month, The iBELIEVE Foundation and The Ohio Association of Student Councils (OASC) have agreed to a joint partnership. The partnership details that iBELIEVE will be taking responsibility of all Summer Leadership Workshops once led by OASC. OASC will still have a vested interest, providing diverse staff and student experiences to the Workshops, as well as key leadership development resources and activities.
OASC’s mission statement says the organization “is dedicated to the teaching of leadership skills, organizational skills, and people skills valuable to the members and officers of all student organizations,” and they have stuck true to this mantra for over 60 years. The organization hosts a number of leadership initiatives throughout the year including OASC State Conference, Super Saturday, Leadership at Cedar Point, and various weekend retreats. OASC is most known, however, for its outstanding Summer Leadership Workshops that expand the idea of leadership hundreds of middle school and high school students each year.
The iBELIEVE Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, Patrick Klein is ecstatic about the new partnership. Klein says, “I am excited to work together with OASC. Their camps taught me valuable leadership skills when I was in high school and I believe that they will have the same impact on our students in iBELIEVE.” Klein personally attended and staffed OASC’s Summer Leadership Workshops during middle school and high school and says he is excited to incorporate more of OASC’s expertise into the iBELIEVE experience.
iBELIEVE camps will now be hosting six camps thanks to this partnership: June 19-23 and June 25-30 at West Liberty University; June 25-30 and July 10-14 at Muskingum University; and July 17-21 and July 24-28 at Wright State University. Executive Director of OASC, Connie Miley, expressed OASC’s enthusiasm about the partnership with iBELIEVE saying, “OASC is excited to work alongside iBELIEVE this summer and can’t wait to see how we can grow and teach one another. We are excited for the diversity and impact iBELIEVE brings to the table!”
