Walmart Receives Annual iGIVE Award

Columbus, OH – April 15th, 2019

The iBELIEVE Foundation announced Walmart as its 2019 iGIVE Corporate Award winner, honoring its top corporate donor for the year. The award was presented to local Walmart representatives during the Eighth Annual iBELIEVE Benefit Gala on April 12th at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

Following the iGIVE Award presentation, Walmart announced it was awarding the iBELIEVE Foundation another $20,000 grant to support its efforts in Appalachia and beyond.

In 2018, Walmart donated an $88,000 grant to The iBELIEVE Foundation to purchase two vehicles to reach more youth in Appalachia with educational programs that teach leadership and problem-solving skills, and ultimately close the college access gap that affects so many in this region.

“We are excited to honor Walmart and the incredible servant leaders that work there. Their commitment to community engagement is really impactful. As the iGIVE Award winners, we want to thank them for their commitment to The iBELIEVE Foundation,” said Patrick Klein, iBELIEVE’s Founder and Executive Director. “We were able to build a more sustainable model with the purchase of the two vans. I am even more excited about the future partnerships that we are discussing and the impact we will be able to have together not only in Appalachian region but also in the Columbus community.”

The iBELIEVE Foundation’s mission, ideas, and programs closely align with one of Walmart’s core areas of giving: education. The Foundation appreciates Walmart’s efforts to support organizations that work to address the needs of the community and have a lasting impact.

“We consider it our responsibility to make a positive impact in the communities we serve by supporting organizations that share our mission of helping people live better,” said Dann Moore, Walmart’s Regional General Manager for northwest, central and southern Ohio. “Walmart is proud to support The iBELIEVE Foundation and its efforts to reach youth in areas throughout Ohio and West Virginia to provide them with opportunities to learn leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.”
